#593 Unforgiving Badlands
This image was taken at the Badlands National Park. sdeptember, 2007
This shot shows a good view of the beauty, and the danger of this strange place. If you notice the grass in the foreground, where it stops is a several hundred foot drop, strait to the bottom. If you stand too close to the edge, and that soft edge gives way, you’re taking the full ride, all the way to the bottom.
That would probably mean certain death. Even if you didn’t die from the fall, you’d be injured too badly to climb out of the canyon. This park doesn’t have the masses of people in it like Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, or Yosemite.
Your body could be there for days before anyone even knew you were dead.
The voltures, and other scavengers would probably do quite a job on you before anyone could do anything to retrieve your body.
No kidding…this is a seriously dangerous place!
